Bentley OpenUtilities Designer is an application that extends the GIS capabilities of Bentley Map for the Water Utility Industry. Bentley OpenUtilities Designer specifically addresses the asset data modeling and maintenance issues encountered by Water utilities in daily operations by representing real water distribution systems with a collection of line features (corresponding to different types of pipes) and point features (corresponding to facilities placed on pipes or connections between pipes).

Bentley OpenUtilities Designer is a product that is built on the powerful MicroStation foundation. The product installation comes complete with all the functionality of Bentley map included.

Bentley OpenUtilities Designer provides a variety of tools to layout and document your Water Distribution System. These tools are based on Bentley's Utility Industry Extension and XML Feature Model (XFM) technology allowing you to interact with Water facilities with the same look and feel regardless of commodity or industry in the GIS. The Bentley OpenUtilities Designer Inference Engine and Network Engine along with a rich data model work behind the scenes to automatically model facilities as you layout and document the system.
